UPDATE: Critchell ready to face Frome
7:10pm Monday 11th February 2013 in Sport By Adam Summers
OVER HIS FLU: Kyle Critchell
KYLE Critchell is back in contention for the Terras ahead of tomorrow's clash against Frome Town (7.45pm).
The defender dropped to the bench for Saturday’s 2-1 win over Bedworth United following a bout of flu, but could return to the starting line-up this evening with several players carrying knocks.
Weymouth boss Brendon King told Echosport: “Kyle should be okay tomorrow. He had a flu bug late last week but now he has had a couple more days’ rest he is fit and raring to go again.
“A couple of players are also carrying knocks at the moment, including Danny Clay and Barry McConnell, so we will have to check on them, but hopefully we should have a similar squad to choose from.
“There is also a chance Scott Walker could be back for the weekend. He is not far away now and if he doesn’t quite make this Saturday’s game at Cambridge City, he should be okay for the following Wednesday at Kettering Town.”
Frome have been Weymouth’s bogey side of late, taking seven points off them in their last three meetings – a run King is keen to end.
He added: “Saturday’s victory over Bedworth was an important one but it will mean nothing if we cannot follow it up with another positive result tomorrow.
“We have got some very tough fixtures coming up and if we could put another three points on the board this evening it would put us into a good position going into those.
“However, Frome are a well-organised side that can make life very difficult so it is important we are ready for a battle.
“We felt we deserved something at their place earlier in the season and because of that we feel like we owe them one but it is going to be another tough game for sure.”
Weymouth currently sit ninth in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division while the Robins lie 17th, 11 points adrift, having played a game less.
