Weymouth suffer defeat at Cambridge
5:11pm Saturday 16th February 2013 in Sport
ED Palmer received his marching orders as the Terras suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Cambridge City this afternoon.
David Prada put the hosts ahead after five minutes with a rebound before Robbie Nightingale grabbed the second just 10 minutes from time following a foul by Sam Poole.
That does not tell the whole story though as Weymouth were arguably the better side for long periods with Ben Joyce and Mark Ford both having chances.
The Terras also felt they should have had a spot kick of their own in the first half following what appeared to be a clear handball.
However, once Palmer was sent off for a second bookable offence just after the hour it was clear it was not going to be the visitors' day.
