Defeat for Magpies at Basingstoke

BASINGSTOKE 2 MAGPIES 1

A MANNY Williams brace helped Basingstoke to three points at The Camrose as the Magpies saw their three-game unbeaten run in Blue Square Bet South come to an end.

After a largely forgettable first half, Williams struck early in the second period before adding another with seven minutes left.

However, new Dorchester striker Kieffer Moore set-up an exciting finish by pulling one back with his first goal for the club and although Neil Martin hit a post in injury time the hosts held on.

Dorchester go to Truro City, Moore's former club, on Tuesday night (7.45pm) while the Magpies Reserves' match at Moneyfields today was postponed.
