Senior feels Bees are due a big win

GOOD NEWS: Jamie Symes’ loan has been extended
TREVOR Senior reckons one unlucky side is going to “cop it” when they face a Bridport team that he feels is due a big win.
And the Bees’ manager would dearly love it to be high-flying Brislington when they visit St Mary’s Field tomorrow (7.45pm).
Bridport have picked up two points from a possible nine in their last three outings in the Toolstation Western Premier Division – and Senior has insisted his men have been worth a lot more than that.
Brislington may have lost top spot in the table last weekend but they are still likely to provide a stern examination of Senior’s charges, who drew 1-1 at home to Buckland Athletic on Saturday.
Tonight’s visitors beat Bridport 1-0 in the Les Phillips Cup last November, a defeat that Senior is adamant his side didn’t deserve.
He said: “I said to the lads before Saturday’s game that from the two matches we had played in the last couple of weeks we had taken one point out of a possible six.
“We could well have taken all six and could also have won on Saturday so when you look at two points from the last nine it doesn’t seem like we’ve played well but our performances have been really good and we should have had more out of the last three matches.
“I think someone is going to cop it from us one day. Brislington are one of the top sides but we played them at their place in the cup and lost 1-0 and didn’t deserve that. Hopefully we can get something out of this game and keep picking up points.”
Before the stalemate with Buckland the St Mary’s Field outfit were buoyed by the news that Jamie Symes’ loan move from Dorchester had been extended by another month.
On that, Senior added: “It’s great for us. He’s a strong player with an eye for goal but you can see he has not had many games and needs these matches for his fitness. It is getting better and in the three games with us so far he could well have had four goals.”
Shane Evans suffered a recurrence of a hamstring problem on Saturday and is out tomorrow while keeper Sam Filkins is again unavailable due to university commitments.
Sean Lillington is on stand-by and the club also has Jamie Fry and Jamie Filkins available.
