Richmond challenges Terras to close gap

TOOK A KNOCK: Sanchez Baker, right
IN-FORM Weymouth Reserves will look to continue their sparkling form in the Magna Dorset Premier League tomorrow when they take on struggling Swanage Town & Herston at the Bob Lucas Stadium (7.30pm).
The Terras have taken 13 points from their last five games to close within six points of the top five, but joint-boss Jake Richmond is taking nothing for granted.
He told Echosport: “I’ve challenged the guys to close the gap on the top teams and over the past few weeks we have done that, but tonight is another big game for us because we haven’t always performed well against the sides below us.
“It’s easy to get up for matches against the big teams but we need to start doing the same against the lower sides too and hope-fully that can start this evening.
“With any reserve side it is always about the performance rather than the result but it would certainly be nice to keep our current run going because it breeds confidence which is also very important.”
When asked for the latest team news, Richmond, who is still without the services of Adam Anstey and Liam Greatrex, went on to add: “Sanchez Baker took a knock on Saturday and probably won’t feature and there is also a chance a couple of lads may go with the first-team squad to Kettering but we will just have to wait and see.”
The Swans currently sit third-bottom and have lost four of their last six.
The Terras also beat them at Days Park earlier in the season when they captured a 3-0 victory in the second round of the Dorset Premier League Cup.
