Magpies get Priory point

RED-CARDED: Arran Pugh RED-CARDED: Arran Pugh

NEITHER floodlight failure nor a red card for Arran Pugh could deny the Magpies a hard-earned point in East Sussex last night.

Centre-half Pugh was dismissed for a second bookable offence with around eight minutes of the game remaining before the lights went out at Eastbourne’s Priory Lane stadium.

It took just over 10 minutes for the problem to be fixed and when the match did restart Dorchester held firm to secure a draw.

The result sees the Magpies remain in eighth place in Blue Square Bet South, five points behind Boreham Wood, who occupy the last play-off berth.

Last night’s fixture was the last for Charlie Clough before his four-game suspension kicks in when the county town side face Boreham Wood at the Avenue on Saturday.

The draw at Eastbourne also marked the return of striker Kieffer Moore following a spell out with a thigh injury and club captain Mark Jermyn, who came off the bench after missing the Bromley defeat due to a nose operation.
