BRENDON King branded last night’s incredible victory over high-flying Hemel Hempstead Town his side’s best yet.

Despite missing Stephen Reed and Dan Smith the Terras pulled off a 3-1 victory to move into the last play-off spot in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division where they currently sit one point above sixth-placed Gosport Borough, who hold a game in hand.

King told Echosport: “It was absolutely outstanding. To a man every single one of them were immense and for me that is the performance of the season. We were down to the bare bones. Reedy missed out through tonsillitis while Dan Smith has broken his hand.

“Dan picked up the injury on Saturday but only found out it was broken on Monday evening.

“He has a cast on it but the referee deemed he could not play with it. As a result Ashley Wells had to play with the flu but all of them were different class from start to finish.

“Even when they threw the kitchen sink at us in the last 20 minutes we dug in and I was absolutely delighted, particularly for the 50 or 60 fans that had travelled up with us, who were also fantastic.”

Ben Joyce, Mark Ford and Ed Palmer got the goals for the Terras.

Joyce has now netted five in his last eight games while Ford has struck six in seven but King was unable to pick out just one man.

He added: “Ed was immense, Ben and Mark took their goals well, Ash was fantastic, Simon Evans made a couple of great saves – I could go on and on.

“They were all just magnificent and the result has really put us in the mix.”

The Terras have now won their last four on the spin and will fancy their chances of increasing that run to five this Saturday when they host Banbury United (3pm).
