Kieffer set to make Avenue debut

DEBUT: Kieffer Moore DEBUT: Kieffer Moore

KIEFFER Moore looks set to make his home debut for the Magpies today against Boreham Wood (3pm).

The powerful forward has been struggling with a thigh injury of late but it appears he has now been given the green light to return to action.

Dorchester Town boss Phil Simkin said: “Following treatment on Thursday night, Kieffer is almost back to full fitness now and he will be making his home debut today. Unfortunately though, Ben Watson (calf) is still no more than 50-50 and we won’t be risking him if it is a borderline decision.”

Sam Malsom is the likely candidate to partner Moore up front in Watson’s absence although Simkin has been trying to bring in a striker on loan as cover.

He added: “I tried to bring in Tom Nichols from Exeter City but for one reason and another it didn’t quite come off.

“There is another possibility but whether anything will happen in time I don’t know.”

The Magpies sit eighth in Blue Square Bet South, five points adrift of Boreham Wood, who currently occupy the last play-off spot.
