SWIMMING: Girls raise £900 in harbour test
3:48pm Monday 12th August 2013 in Sport
TO celebrate the anniversary of London 2012 and to raise money, two 11-year-old girls, Tallulah Chalstrey and Olivia Cregg, swam five miles for charity.
They braved pouring rain and hail as they completed the course across Portland Harbour and back.
Setting off from Osprey Quay, they completed the distance in 3½ hours and have raised a total of nearly £900 for the Dorset Youth Association.
The association celebrates its 70th anniversary this year and the girls wanted to support a local charity.
Tallulah’s father is kayaking the channel later on this year, again for the DYA.
