DORCHESTER entertain Lytchett at Coburg Road today (3pm) as they step up their pre-season campaign ahead of their Southern Counties South season.
Head coach Martyn Peel said: “Pre-season has gone very well with attendance being excellent.
“We have tried a few new things which the players have really enjoyed.
“All players want to play and this weekend’s game is a chance for the lads to show what they can do.
“Lytchett had an excellent season last year, and although they play two leagues below us I expect them to give us a stern test and that is exactly what any team would like at this stage with the competitive season only two weeks away.”
The game against Lytchett isn’t the only game at Coburg Road this weekend. Also today, the Gladiators welcome old rivals Weymouth Thirds, hoping for a performance to match the same fixture last year.
The match will be a chance to see off youngsters heading off to university and the wider world, while welcoming new faces to Dorchester Rugby Club.
Dorchester are always looking for players (new, old or returning to the game) so if you want to become involved contact club secretary Andrew Smith on 07812191136 or email clubsecretary@dorchester-rfc.co.uk
