BEES: Boss Robin Townsend unhappy with players after loss
SHERBORNE TOWN RESERVES 2 BRIDPORT RESERVES 0
ROBIN Townsend was less than enamoured with his players following a third Dorset Premier League defeat on the trot.
The Bees’ boss called into question the attitude of some of the squad who he felt hadn’t prepared in the right way.
In the end a goal either side of the break from Joe Smith sec-ured Sherborne the three points.
The loss leaves Bridport 10th in the table, three places behind Tintinhull, their opponents at St Mary’s Field on Saturday.
Speaking to Echosport after the 2-0 reverse at Raleigh Grove, Townsend wasn’t best pleased with his side.
“Saturday morning is never a good time to have players let you down and I was really disappointed to have someone pull out of the game,” he said.
“Also, when we did turn up you could see one or two people had been out the night before and that’s a big no-no for me.
“I was disappointed with the attitude of a couple of the players but hopefully from now on they will be a bit more professional and switched on.
“Things have got to change otherwise we will be at the bottom of the league fighting relegation.”
On the game itself, he added: “It wasn’t the worst we’ve ever played by any means but we were very average.
“In the first half we found it difficult to string three passes together and although we created a few chances we couldn’t take them.”
