TERRAS: Walker could make debut against Bognor
SUMMER signing Michael Walker could be in line to make his long-awaited Terras’ debut in tomorrow’s FA Cup clash with Bognor Regis Town (3pm).
The central defender (pictured) joined Weymouth from Poole Town in June but underwent a hernia operation a month later, forcing him to miss the start of the season.
Since then he has been working hard to return to fitness and came through his first full training session with the rest of the squad on Tuesday night.
And Terras’ boss Brendon King told Echosport yesterday that if he was to do the same last night he would go straight into contention for the second qualifying round tie against Bognor at the Bob Lucas Stadium.
“We’ve got a couple of players with knocks who didn’t train on Tuesday, but Michael Walker did and came through it,” said King.
“It would be a big boost if he is fit for Saturday. He has been working really hard on his own and is chomping at the bit to be involved.”
As for Bognor, they have been finding the back of the net on a regular basis in the Ryman Premier League and will be a tough test for King’s men.
“They are a very good side who are on a great run,” he added. “I’ve had them watched twice and they like to play and have been scoring for fun.”
