TERRAS: Weymouth win is dedicated to stricken Kyle

JAKE Richmond and his players dedicated this triumph to Kyle Critchell as the Terras’ midfielder continues to recover from a life-threatening infection.
Reserve-team boss Richmond was thrilled with his side’s display at Blandford with substitute Paul Ford getting the winning goal nine minutes from the end.
What made Richmond even happier was that Weymouth played the whole second half a man light following Aston Butcher’s red card just before half-time.
“It was a great display from us from start to finish,” he said. “And we could have scored three or four if we’d taken our chances.
“And the most pleasing thing for me was that the sending off galvanised the boys rather than having the opposite effect.
“The work we have done on our fitness really showed and you wouldn’t have known we were the side with 10 men in the second half.
“You don’t often see that with a young side and it would have been a travesty if we hadn’t taken at least a point.”
He added: “Me and the lads would like to dedicate the win to Kyle Critchell. It was a really battling and determined display and I know Kyle has got a bit of a fight on so that was for him.
“He is on the mend but we don’t want him to think anyone has forgotten about him at this club.”
Other than a half-blocked shot on the half-hour mark, Blandford didn’t trouble Matt Cafer in the visitors’ goal.
The game was just 30 seconds old when Sean Zima found Louis Smith and he hit a post from eight yards.
There wasn’t much to talk about in the first half until an off the ball incident resulted in Butcher being shown a red card for using an elbow.
But that only seemed to spur the Terras on and Zima and Carl Mc-Clements went close in the second period before the latter was replaced by Ford.
And just six minutes after coming on, Ford was fed by the superb Smith and the striker buried his shot.
Zima, Ford and Luke Chatter-ton could have added goals in the last 10 minutes but 1-0 proved to be enough.
Terras: Cafer, Sharpe, Butcher, Anstey, Brown, Will, Smith, Preece (Chatterton 55), Harvey, Zima (Gould 85), McClements (Ford 75). Subs not used: Jackson, Blundell
