TERRAS: King's men out to put things right at Bognor
7:00am Tuesday 1st October 2013 in Sport
THE Terras will be out to make the most of their second bite of the cherry in the FA Cup tonight (7.45pm).
Brendon King’s men looked dead and buried in the competition at one stage on Saturday but scored twice in the final five minutes to salvage a replay – an opportunity they are determined to take advantage of.
Not only is £4,500 up for grabs at Bognor Regis Town this evening but the winners will also go on to face Calor League Division One South & West outfit Cirencester Town away in the third qualifying round, which is clearly a winnable tie.
Commenting on the situation, King told Echosport: “It’s going to be tough tonight but the playing surface is really good up there and I know the lads want to put things right.
“We had a game-plan that was working on Saturday until we gave away a silly penalty and put ourselves under pressure.
“Just before that I felt we were getting ontop but that incident changed everything and, in the end, we had to show great character to get back in it.
“To come back from 2-0 down with not long left like that was an incredible effort and it’s given us a second chance, which we desperately want to take. Bognor probably thought it was all done and dusted at two up but we forced it to a replay and now we must make the most of it.”
When asked about the draw for the next round, the Weymouth boss added: “I am not interested in that at the moment. The only thing on my mind is tonight, which is a massive game.
“As far as I am concerned the incentives are still the same as they were on Saturday.”
King is expecting to take an unchanged squad to Nyewood Lane but he could freshen up the starting XI.
He said: “Whether we change things around a bit we will have to wait and see. There are a couple of lads carrying knocks and we have to make sure they are not suffering. We might well look to freshen it up a little.”
