FOOTBALL: RiskSTOP on board for champion Dorchester Ladies

DORCHESTER Town Ladies have received a massive boost thanks to a new sponsorship deal with local company RiskSTOP.
The reigning Dorset Women’s League champions have kicked off their season with successive wins and are looking forward to the challenges ahead as they aim to retain their title.
Captain Stacey Smith, 23, said: “Often people don’t realise the costs involved in running a local football team. There are referee’s fees, pitch fees, transport, training facilities, equipment and kit that all needs to be paid for.
“Although things have been very good for us on the pitch for the past couple of seasons, it has been a struggle meeting costs, with the girls having to dip into their own pockets quite often to pay for the pleasure of playing.
“All that and more is set to change this year, thanks to RiskSTOP.”
The RiskSTOP sponsorship money has already been put to good use, with the team purchasing a new kit for this season.
Top scorer Becky Narramore, 25, who averaged three goals per game in 2012/13, added: “We approached more than 20 companies without any luck at all before RiskSTOP agreed to contribute such an incredible amount.”
RiskSTOP Group general manager Tom Lillington continued: “Firstly, we have to confess to being a little biased towards Dor-chester Ladies, with Stacey, Becky and Rosie forming part of our great team of employees here at RiskSTOP.
“However, for us, it’s more than just that. Backing local sport is an important contribution to our community, whether it’s women’s football or other events such as the Dorchester Triathlon, which we supported earlier this year.
“It’s also about good health, encouraging teamwork and doing your bit.
“We’re proud to sponsor Dor-chester Ladies and wish them all the best for the season.”
The county town outfit, who remain unbeaten since 2011, opened their campaign with a 7-2 win over newcomers Portland United and then followed that up with a 6-0 triumph over Bridport.
Their next clash is at AFC Bournemouth on Sunday (2.15pm).
