TERRAS: King’s sympathy for Magpies
WEYMOUTH boss Brendon King has put local rivalries to one side to give his backing to Dorchester Town.
King, pictured, empathises with the problems the Magpies are going through given that the Terras have endured their own financial struggles over the years.
And while King is focused on getting three points at Biggleswade Town today (3pm), he is also aware of what is going on over the Ridgeway.
“At the end of the day, it has got nothing to do with me, but it’s not a nice position to be in for them,” he said.
“Weymouth have been there, seen it and done it and it’s not nice to see, even when it is happening to your closest rivals.
“I don’t like to see something like this happening and I’m hoping everything works out for them.
“Only they know the full story, but it’s a shame for them and we get no joy out of it at all.
“We want to keep our rivalry with them going and that means having a strong Dorchester.”
Weymouth go to Calor Southern Premier Division new boys Biggles-wade today looking to get back in touch with the teams at the top of the table.
The Terras saw off Bognor Regis in their FA Cup replay on Tuesday night while Biggleswade lost 3-2 at Arlesey Town in the league, courtesy of a 93rd-minute winner.
