MAGPIES: Eddie Belt back at the Magpies
FORMER Dorchester Town chairman Eddie Belt is set to return to the club’s board later this month.
Belt, who also played for and managed the Magpies, will be the new facilities director at the county town outfit.
He will be formally co-opted on to the board at the next directors’ meeting on October 28, subject to him passing the FA’s owners’ and directors’ test.
Belt has been working closely with the board over the last few months, advising on the club’s project to develop a new function room and bar facility that the board considers crucial to the long term prosperity of the club.
Club co-chairman Neal Butterworth said: “We are ever so pleased to have Eddie back at the club. His knowledge of running this football club is second to none and his experience will be invaluable as the club looks to move forwards with a number of projects.
“Over the last few months, Eddie has been absolutely fantastic in advising and leading on our plans to develop an improved function facility that we believe will bring in regular non-matchday income in to the club.
“We are delighted to have him on board again and he will no doubt prove to be a popular addition to the board.”
Belt has a lifelong affinity with Dorchester Town and is a popular figure at the Avenue.
