CARL McClements bagged four goals as Weymouth Reserves continued their scintillating form at the County Ground.
With first-team squad members Matt Cafer and Michael Walker in their side, the Terras controlled the game throughout and could have scored more as they extended their unbeaten run to six matches.
Reflecting on the 5-0 win at Hamworthy United Reserves, Weymouth boss Jake Richmond said: “We took our chances and were solid at the back, so it was excellent stuff once again.
“Michael Walker played the first 45 minutes and his influence was fantastic.
“He was really good with the youngsters, who got to see just how sharp he is and exactly what he is about.
“Having players like that drop down once in a while really gives the lads an idea of the level they need to strive for, and what they have to improve, so it was another great experience for them.
“Matt Cafer also played in goal and was magnificent. He really is a quality keeper and although he didn’t have many saves to make, he was commanding in everything he did.”
Going on to comment on McClements, Richmond conti-nued: “That is 11 goals for Carl.
“He missed two or three games recently with a wrist injury but he is now hitting his stride again and his composure in front of goal is just fantastic.
“There is no doubt he is a class act and just like Michael Walker, he is great with the youngsters.
“He just needs to up his work rate a little bit.”
McClements opened the scoring on the half-hour by smashing home a fine cross from Lee Sharpe, and just seven minutes later he completed his brace from the penalty spot, following a foul on Lloyd Beals.
That double put the visitors in complete command and just a minute into the second half Luke Chatterton set up McClements again to complete his hat-trick.
The goal of the game then arrived on 55 minutes when a fine free-flowing move saw Sharpe and Chatterton combine to send Oscar Preece down the right, who cut inside and laid the ball back to Chatterton to fire a shot into the bottom corner.
In the end though, it was McClements that had the final say in the 68th minute when he pounced on a poor back pass, rounded the keeper and slotted home from an acute angle to wrap up the victory.
Richmond added: “We had other chances as well and really ripped them apart at times.
“The fitness work we have been doing with Neil Carter is really paying dividends and the longer the game goes on the stronger we are looking.
“It was just another great all-round team performance and to keep a fourth clean sheet in a row was really pleasing.”
The Terras remain third in the table, one point adrift of league leaders Portland United, having played a game more.
Terras: Cafer, Sharpe, Holland (Frost 60), Anstey, M Walker (Will 46), Harvey, Beals, Preece, McClements (Jackson 70), Chatterton, P Ford. Subs not used: Blundell, Zima.
