MAGPIES: Simkin hails Cherries' duo
PHIL Simkin believes the Magpies are very fortunate to have the services of Josh Wakefield and Brandon Goodship.
The AFC Bournemouth duo have been in fine form for the county town with the latter having grabbed five goals in three games since his return to the club.
Dorchester boss Phil Simkin told Echosport: “Brandon’s hat-trick the other night against Hamworthy Recreation in the Dorset Senior Cup was tremendous and he is getting better with every game.
“Stephen Purches, AFC Bournemouth’s development coach, came down last Saturday and he is really pleased with the progress both him and Josh are making.
“Josh is now training with their first team and the fact we have managed to secure him for another month is fantastic.
“Youth loans are a lot more flexible than normal ones and I am hoping to keep both him and Brandon for a while.
“They are both great lads and we are really lucky to have them.”
The Magpies travel to high-flying Bromley on Saturday and already have concerns over the fitness of Harrison Bell and Mark Jermyn, who are both struggling with illness.
One player that will definitely feature in the squad though is defender Tony Rolls. Simkin added: “Tony is still only 19 but he is very quick and a good footballer, and could prove to be a great foil for Ashley Vickers at the back.
“I was impressed with his performance in the Senior Cup and he will definitely be involved on Saturday.”
Dorchester currently sit bottom of Skrill South with just seven points from 11 games while Bromley lie second with 25 from 12.
