BROADMAYNE First School has started the school year in a healthy way.
The school held a sports health and fitness week that encouraged the pupils into training and enjoying every second of it.
Jayne Brown organised an array of fitness activities and even grabbed some middle school pupils in Year Eight to act as sports leaders to help out.
Within the week, the deputy head had organised fitness multi-skills tests for the school (ran with the Sports Leaders) in which they now have a fitness result for every individual pupil in the whole first school.
Then it was fitness and Olympic training, circuit training with tyre throwing, a skipping day as well as many, many more activities that the whole school trained in.
Dorchester Area Sports Programme (DASP) co-ordinator Levi Dailey said: “This was a huge start to the school year and what a boom for PE in Broadmayne.
“This is the role model for schools with PE.
“Mr Gibbons and Mrs Brown worked tirelessly all week and their rewards were the smiles on every face, every day from the pupils at Broadmayne. I wish every school could do this.”
