HAMWORTHY UNITED 4 MAGPIES 1
AN INJURY to Harry Bell marred the Magpies’ exit from the Dorset Senior Cup at the County Ground last night.
The defender, pushed up into midfield for the game, left the pitch on a stretcher after being on the wrong end of a challenge from behind by Karl Yelland.
Dorchester boss Phil Simkin feared Bell had broken his leg but it appears to be his right ankle that bore the brunt of the impact.
The true extent of the injury is still to be confirmed but Simkin reckons the player will be out of action for at least a couple of weeks.
Hamworthy scored twice in the lengthy period of injury-time to lead 3-1 at the break.
They went on to add another in the second half and book a semi-final against Weymouth, Poole or Gillingham Town, who beat Verwood Town 2-0 on Wednesday.
Dorchester’s only goal came through striker Josh Tennant.
The likes of Harry Reynolds, Oakley Hanger, Craig Michie and Jamie Beasley all had a run out for the visitors, with Sam Old replacing Bell.
