WEYMOUTH Swimming Club’s annual 200m and 400m freestyle galas again gave swimmers a great opportunity to compete against fellow club members.
The events were well attended with most swimmers keen to better their existing personal best records – the times they record under ASA competition rules could see them qualify for the Dorset County Championships early next year.
The results from the two galas were as follows:
200m Freestyle
Junior girls (14-and-under) – 1 Bethany Car, 2 Danielle Brunell, 3 Alice Adams
Senior girls (15-and-over) – 1 Katie Paul, 2 Dani Condell, 3 Chloe Calton
Junior boys (14-and-under) – 1 Nial Turner, 2 Joshua Westlake, 3 Tyler Baker
Senior boys (15-and-over) – 1 Joshua Brunell, 2 Aidan Turner, 3 Scott Walden
400m Freestyle Junior girls (14-and-under) – 1 Alice Adams, 2 Bethanie Carr, 3 Kati Ninham
Senior girls (15-and-over) – 1 Katie Paul, 2 Dani Condell, 3 Chloe Calton
Junior boys (14-and-under) – 1 Joshua Westlake, 2 Nial Turner, 3 Tyler Baker
Senior boys (15-and-over) – 1 Joshua Brunell, 2 Aidan Turner, 3 Scott Walden
The majority of swimmers achieved personal best times in these events and 39 Weymouth Swimming Club members have qualified to swim at next year’s Dorset County Championships.
