MORE than 40 Weymouth Angling Society junior anglers with parents, friends and helpers all turned out for the Summer League awards presentation.

After a busy and fruitful summer, the final results and league awards were announced by chairman Billy Short.

In the under-12s’ section, Jack Homer took the honours with Aaliyah Frapple second, Ben Carter third and James Duffy fourth.

Jack Buckland came out on top in the over-12s, with Nina Frap-ple in second, Katie Veales third and Bailey Mercer in fourth.

Best specimen in the league was won by Sam Short for his 46 per cent mackerel; Sam also took the best specimen by a junior in the monthly boat league with his dogfish of 76 per cent.

The fish of the year accolade was presented to Reece Baker for a black goby, which also equalled the club record.

Awards were presented by Andy Selby of Weymouth Ang-ling Centre for the Weymouth Angling Centre Summer competition in which Homer triumphed again in the under-12s and Sam Short won in the over-12s.

In the Weymouth Angling Cen-tre Team League, Selby presented the honours in the under- 12s to Ned’s Flounders – Thomas Hussey, Jacob Hussey, Emily Hussey and Jack Homer.

Meanwhile, in the over-12s, the Pykies – Ethan Casey, Rea Casey, Ryan Casey and Sam Short took the top spot.

The best pollack cup was won by Sam Short and the end of season pairs was claimed by Nina Frappel and Ryan Casey.
