BRIDPORT’S clash with Gillingham Town at St Mary’s Field (3pm) looks set to go ahead today.

Trevor Senior told Echosport on Boxing Day that the game could be in serious doubt but he has since received some encouraging news from the club’s groundsman, who has been working tirelessly to get it ready.

The Bridport boss said: “I spoke to the groundsman yesterday and he is very hopeful that the game will go ahead.

“We have not played at home for a month so it would be good to get a big crowd down there for what promises to be a great game.”

Chris Senior (hamstring) and Sam Filkins (one-game suspension) will both miss out for the Bees but Darren Watts, Max Buckler and Chris Luke are all set to return. Billy Fleet will replace Filkins between the posts.

Elsewhere, Portland United host Wareham Rangers in the Bespoke Teamwear Dorset Premier League while Bridport Reserves travel to Tintinhull (both 2pm).

* AFC Bournemouth and Yeovil Town are in Sky Bet Championship action tomorrow. The Cherries entertain Ipswich Town while the Glovers visit Huddersfield Town (both 3pm).
