CHARLIE Losasso and Jake McCarthy have become the latest AFC Bournemouth assets to join the Magpies on loan.

Dorchester Town boss Phil Simkin’s close relationship with the Cherries has already seen the likes of Josh Wakefield and Brandon Goodship enjoy successful spells at the Avenue Stadium this season, and he is hopeful Losasso and McCarthy can follow in their footsteps.

Simkin told Echosport: “Jake is a centre-back, who can also play in midfield, while Charlie is a wide player that can also play up front.

“Bournemouth rate both of them highly and recently gave Jake his first professional contract.

“They signed Charlie from Read-ing last summer and, having seen him play, he is also a bit tasty.

“He’s very skilful and is also a bit of a free-kick specialist, so I am delighted to have them both on board.

“Charlie will be with us for three months while Jake has come here on a youth loan, which is open ended.”

Commenting on the county town outfit’s ongoing link-up with the Cherries, Simkin went on to add: “It is just great and, once again, I am extremely grateful to them.

“Every one of the boys they have sent down to us have been top notch, both in terms of their performances and their attitudes, and they have all been a credit to both Stephen Purches (development coach) and their club.”

Losasso is expected to start in this afternoon’s home clash against Hayes & Yeading (3pm) while McCarthy will begin on the bench.

Simkin is also on the lookout for a striker and is hopeful of getting one in soon.
