THE Marlboro Restaurant has officially been unveiled as the new sponsor of the main stand at Weymouth’s Bob Lucas Stadium.

The popular quayside establishment is celebrating its 40th year and the Terras would like to say a big thank you to Vinny Johnson and his family and friends for their continued support.

A club statement reads: “Vinny and Mike Johnson have been following the Terras since they first moved to Weymouth in 1969.

“They are regular match sponsors and the fact they have now become the new sponsor of the main stand, which is now known as the Marlboro Restaurant Stand, is just fantastic.

“Weymouth FC would like to thank them for their continued support and wish everyone at the Marlboro the best as they celebrate the restaurant’s 40th year.”

The Weymouth FC Supporters Association has presented Vinny Johnson with an old Weymouth FC shirt, emblazoned with the Marlboro Restaurant across the front.

WFCSA board member Barrie Merriefield had searched high and low through the association’s archives to locate the shirt, which the group wanted to handover as a thank you.
