JASON Matthews should have a clearer indication after this weekend as to whether or not there is scope to bring fresh faces to the Bob Lucas Stadium.
The Terras’ player-manager has said he would like to boost the size of his squad, with a midfielder at the top of his wish list.
But Matthews is fully aware that finances will play a huge role in him being able to make any new signings.
This Saturday is a busy one for the Terras’ chief with the home match against Corby Town bookended by a morning board meeting and fans’ forum at 6.30pm.
And only after that does Matthews feel he will know what he has to play with.
“I’d like to bolster the squad a little bit but whether that’s possible or not, I don’t know yet,” he said.
“We’ve got a small squad so a couple of fresh faces would be welcome, but, at the same time, we’ve got to balance the books.
“I’ll know how things are going after the fans’ forum on Saturday.”
An extensive list of contacts is always handy for a non-League manager and Matthews reckons his links with other clubs will stand him in good stead.
“I’ve spoken to all the local League clubs and they are very helpful,” he added. “I’m quite privileged to know someone at each of them so that helps too.”
