THE Wey Valley Recreational Gymnastics Club is once again proving extremely popular.

Youngsters, aged between five and 13, from Dorchester, Weymouth, Portland and the surrounding areas have been springing back into action at the club, which has just started a 12-week term at the Wey Valley School Sports Hall.

The sessions, which are organised by South Dorset sports coach Don Whistance, take place every Saturday morning between 10.30am and 1pm.

Whistance said: “The club’s success is due to the superb support provided by the junior staff that attend most weeks.

“Not only are they warm and friendly individuals but they also give help and advice to the young gymnasts when they are working on the Proficiency Award Scheme, and also to those children requiring a bit of support during the sessions.

“The club accepts a cross section of children who range in physical, social, emotional and energetic characteristics.

“The atmosphere is warm, friendly and approachable and most requests to join the popular club are accepted.”

Supporting senior coach Lisa Potter at the sessions are junior coaches Jenna Richardson, Jessica Prior, Eloise Read, Katie Gosling, Abbie Allgood, Ria Sherrell and Charlotte Walsh.
