LODERS and Bridport were the big winners at the Area Primary Schools Cross Country event hosted by The Sir Jon Colfox School.
Maddy Herbert (Loders) dominated the girls’ race from start to finish and secured another victory following her success in the Colmers meeting.
She went out hard up the steep hill and maintained that pace right through to the end to record the second fastest time ever.
Rosie Howell, also of Loders, finished second with Ellen Pearce (Bridport St Mary’s) third.
Loders took the team title for a second successive year with Thorncombe second and Bridport St Mary’s in third.
The boys’ race was fought out between Zacjohn Ousley (Bridport St Mary’s), the winner of the Colmers event, and Barney Sutcliffe (Bridport).
Ousley went up the hill in first and opened a lead, but Sutcliffe closed the gap and had enough to take the title.
Tom Kilcoyne (Bridport) came home in third in a fantastic result for the Year Five pupil.
Bridport retained their team crown, St Catherine’s were runners-up and Loders finished third.
