WEYMOUTH will be without Matt Cafer and Barry McConnell for tomorrow’s trip to Arlesey Town (3pm).

Cafer is currently undergoing a trial at a Spanish club while McConnell, pictured, has flown to Ireland following a family bereavement.

Mark Ford’s foot injury will also keep him out and there are also doubts surrounding the fitness of Luke Winsper and Luke Burbidge.

With long-term absentees Simon Evans, Kyle Critchell, Jamie Symes and Dave Allen all still sidelined as well, the Terras are clearly down to the bare bones but player-boss Jason Matthews is continuing to remain positive.

He said: “We are clearly limited in terms of numbers this weekend but we still have options with the players we have available.

“I was really chuffed with Carl McClements’ performance against Tiverton on Tuesday night.

“He held the ball up well and brought people into play and that was definitely a massive bonus.

“I was also pleased with Nathan Walker and thought both those guys showed how much they really want to be a part of it.

“There were some negatives in that game as well but it did not throw up anything that we didn’t already know, and we will be working hard now to put that right.

“Stuart Yetton and Ben Joyce should be fine for tomorrow and although Luke Burbidge has been struggling with a tight hamstring, I am expecting him to be fit too.

“Luke Winsper is 50-50 and will probably undergo a late fitness test.”

Arlesey have lost just one of their last nine games in the Calor Southern Premier Division but Matthews is only concerned about his own team.

He added: “Arlesey are on a good run and we will treat them with respect.

“We have done our homework on them but a lot of the sides in this league are much of a muchness and it is really about how we play.

“We have got four away games on the bounce now and they are all tough.

“Bashley may be bottom but it’s not an easy place to go and Cambridge City and Chippenham are going be very difficult too.

“It’s going to be a tough period but I have a points target in mind and hopefully we can push up the league.”

The Terras, travel to Cambridge City next Wednesday before visiting Chippenham and Bashley on January 25 and 28 respectively.
