JASON Matthews is hoping to add another loan player to his ranks ahead of Saturday’s clash at Chippenham Town.
The Weymouth player-manager made the admission after last night’s clash at Cambridge City was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Matthews told Echosport: “There should be another loan signing in by Saturday.
“I have spoken to the lad’s club and hopefully it will go through in the next couple of days.
“With Adam Kelly having come in as well, it should give me a few more options.”
On the postponement, he added: “From a personal point of view, I was really looking forward to playing last night, but, from a team perspective, it was probably not a bad thing, to be honest.
“Luke Winsper was extremely doubtful, Ashley Wells was struggling, and we were also unsure whether Jake Green’s loan would have gone through in time.
“It also breaks up this run of away games we are currently in and it means we will now go to Cambridge a bit later in the season, when the conditions should be a lot better, and it should be a bit lighter.
“It also gives me a chance to have a look at Adam Kelly in training before playing him, and gives us a bit more of a breather ahead of what I think will be a difficult game at Chippenham.”
