A HANDFUL of Dorchester Town first-team fringe players are in line to get some much-needed game time tonight when the reserves travel to AFC Portchester (7.45pm).

Calvin Brooks, pictured, Josh Tennant, Danny Way and Alex Godfrey will feature for the Magpies in the Wyvern League Premier Division encounter.

Tony Rolls could also play a part though he may be involved with his college team who are competing in a national competition.

However, whether anyone gets on to a football field tonight is another thing given the state of pitches across the South West following the recent heavy rain.

Dorchester reserve-team boss Dave Kiteley is eager for his players to see some action – the reserves played their last league fixture on November 26.

“Calvin desperately needs game time after being out for so long with his knee injury,” said Kiteley. “Josh had three games for the first team and was quite rightly rested, but he hasn’t played for nearly three weeks.

“Alex has hardly had any football for two months apart from a half with the firsts at Havant before coming off injured.

“I hope the game is on because the lads are desperate to play. They are sick to the back teeth with training and I can understand that.”

Meanwhile, the first-team’s abandoned home match against Hayes & Yeading United last week has been rearranged for Tuesday, February 18, while Saturday’s postponed trip to Chelmsford City is now on Monday, March 17 (both 7.45pm).
