PIDDLE Valley’s Year Three/ Four football team made a superb start to the year when winning the Dorchester Area Schools Partnership Plate Cup at The Prince Of Wales School.

Six schools were invited to take part and there were some excellent performances from the likes of St Mary’s and the hosts.

St Mary’s finished as runners-up behind Piddle Valley with Milborne St Andrew third.

Prince of Wales were fourth, Puddletown finished fifth and Cheselbourne came sixth.

After all the games were played the Year Seven/Eight sports leaders from Dorchester Middle School – Archie O’Connell, Archie Beasley, Connor Critchell, Raffe Price and Robbie Bag – were thanked for their help.

The tournament ran smoothly thanks to Elliott Sawyer who organised the six-team event.
