EDDIE Belt has stood down from his position as facilities director at Dorchester Town FC due to recent ill health.
A club statement reads: “Eddie has unfortunately suffered from a bleed in the back of the brain, resulting in a stroke soon after he returned home from a memorable victory away at Eastbourne Borough.
“However, Eddie is expected, over time, to make a full recovery, which is great news.
“Eddie will carry on with his previous role as club ambassador, a less taxing position, so he can concentrate all his energies on getting well.
“The board and everyone associated with the club would like to send to Eddie all our best wishes for a speedy recovery and also extend our best wishes to his wife Anne and the rest of his family.”
