BAR 314 moved another step closer to retaining their Weymouth Sunday League Premiership crown with a 3-1 win at Britannia.

Stu Burley was once again on target for the Portlanders but they were no match for the reigning champions, as they went on to collect the points, court- esy of an own goal and strikes from Grant Chance and Sean Hawke.

The victory keeps Bar 314 nine points clear at the summit with just eight games left.

Aura continue to look like the only team capable of catching the title holders.

They saw off a plucky Moby Dick’s side 4-3 but probably need to win all their remaining fixtures to stand any chance of improving on second spot.

Sean Zima bagged a brace for Aura whose other goals came from Harry Norman and Oscar Preece.

Aura entertain Bar 314 at Redlands this coming Sunday (10.30am).

Elsewhere in the division, Charlie Kenderdine was on target for Dolphin in their 1-1 draw with Sailors Return.

Dolphin occupy sixth place but are just five points adrift of the top three with games in hand on all the teams above them.

The other three fixtures were all awash with goals.

Broadmayne beat Famous Old Spa 4-3 and Alexandra overcame Market House 3-2, while basement boys Bakers Arms picked up only their second win over the season with a 4-2 triumph over Lazy Lizard.
