WEYMOUTH kickboxing inst-ructor Giles Richards got his career as a promoter off to a great start at Club Neo in Yeovil.

The full contact show proved to be a huge success with Richards managing to make the event a complete sell out.

Fighters from up and down the country, including some of Richards’ own, took part with Alex Reid acting as the host and MC.

One of Richards’ students from the Matt Fiddes Martial Arts School in Weymouth, 38-year-old Anthony Quinn, made his debut on the night, and won.

Fighting a full contact K1 contest, he won every round against his much younger opponent.

“Me, his friends, and all the students at our Weymouth club are so proud of him,” said Richards, who will be running a similar show, also in Yeovil, in July.

Meanwhile, following his Southern Area title win at the end of last year, Richards has accepted the offer of an English title fight at the end of April.
