ZOE Gowers represented Great Britain at the Youth International Modern Triathlon competition run by the Modern Pentathlon Association of Great Britain, which took place in Solihull.
Gowers, 15, trains with the Dorset Pentathletes and was selected to compete for GBR because of her high national ranking in modern triathlon, which includes swimming, running and shooting.
After a superb performance, she was absolutely delighted to finish fourth overall after gaining a personal best in her 200m freestyle swim then holding her place in a fast paced continuous run and shoot using laser pistols.
The event involved 87 of the world’s top athletes from 12 nations and included the best of the world’s youth pentathlon athletes, many of who are training on Olympic programmes.
Gowers hopes to build upon her successes and earn selection for other international events taking place later in the year.
