THE Magpies’ bid to avoid relegation from Skrill South was dealt a further blow last night when they were hit for four by Chelmsford City at Melbourne Park.

And to compound their misery captain Mark Jermyn was forced off with a hamstring injury which boss Phil Simkin reckons could rule him out for the rest of the season.

Two goals in the space of five second half minutes left the Magpies reeling and the hosts went on to win 4-1 with Charlie Losasso getting a consolation for the visitors.

“They were a strong side and put us under a lot of pressure in the first half, but we defended well,” said Simkin.

“We conceded twice in five minutes in the second half and struggled after that.

“Jem pulled his hamstring before the end and that could well be the end of his season, so it wasn’t a good evening.”

Dorchester remain three points adrift at the foot of the table with a tough match against Sutton United at the Avenue on Saturday.
