DORCHESTER Town have secured the services of Exeter City striker Elliott Chamberlain on loan until the end of the season.

The Grecians’ hit man, who started his career at Leicester City, will go straight into Phil Simkin’s squad and is expected to start for the Magpies when they entertain Sutton United at the Avenue tomorrow (3pm).

Magpies’ boss Simkin said: “He is a front player with a good pedigree who started at Leicester and I have been after him for some time.

“To score goals at this level costs money and it has been hard since we lost Brandon Goodship earlier this season.”

Chamberlain, a Wales under-21 international, has previously been on loan at fellow Skrill South outfit Bath City this season.

The 21-year-old joins a Magpies side that has only picked up two points from
their last five league outings, and are averaging less than a goal per game in the Skrill South.

On his side’s preparation for the game with high-flying Sutton, Simkin added: “Training has gone well this week and we had a discussion where the senior players in the squad aired their views.

“Without them this season, we would have no chance of staying up because it is hard to bring in youngsters at this level.”
