IT HAS been a busy time at Came Down Golf Club.

The Hardy A team took on Folke in a cup contest and ran out 7-1 winners.

There were big victories for Steve Wells, Mike Spearing, Mike Ford and Tony Howe, Alan Stickley, Mark Stickley and Ryan Ford also won.

Came can now look forward to meeting either Bridport or Ferndown Forest in round two.

The following day, the monthly Stableford took place with more than 100 players enjoying the beautiful weather.

In Division One, Jeb Gay recorded the best score of the day with 43 points, which will earn him at least a one-shot handicap reduction.

Second place went to Jeff Morris, with 41 points, which will also see his handicap reduced.

Sam Roles took third, beating Alan Stickley on countback with both players scoring 39 points.

Division Two was won by Alan Lloyd with 41 points who will see his handicap reduced, Eric Pape was second with 39 points.

Third and fourth was once again separated by countback with Ian Britian beating Paul Gay with both scoring 38 points.

Ricky Hearn took the honours in Division Three with 42 points, which will also see his handicap reduced. Zac Killian claimed second with 40 points, Steve Howes was third with 39 points.

In fourth was seniors’ captain Bim Downes (37pts).

Meanwhile, Lily Roberts and Peter Dobbs have won Came’s Ladies’ Section’s final mixed greensomes competition of the season.

The duo bagged 40 points to claim the prize.

Bronze B: 1 Pat Russell (36 points), 2 Mo Moore (35), Gill Wilkinson (30).

Stableford & Guernsey Can – Silver Division: 1 Sue Stokey (33 points), 2 Carolyn Pike (28), 3 Heather Inman (28).

Bronze A: 1 Christine Brittain (32ps), 2 Linda Tabb (30), 3 Ann Barker (29).

Bronze B: 1 Joy Ford (24pts), 2 Mo Moore (24), 3 Anita Minor (23).

* The winner of the Guernsey Can was Sue Stokey.

* In The West versus The Rest match, the West won by nine matches to seven.

* The wind blew hard for Came’s captain’s drive-in to provide a tough test for all 80 competitors.

Rob Harvey and Stuart Green won the competition with a superb 39 points. Runners-up were Alan Wood and Bob Bridgen (38pts).

The event was followed by captains Alex Anderson and Wendy Gregory driving-in to start their year of office.
