AFC TOTTON RESERVES 2 DORCHESTER RESERVES 2

DORCHESTER Reserves’ bid for the Wyvern League title took a big blow when a 96th minute equaliser for AFC Totton Reserves meant the Magpies were held to a 2-2 draw on Thursday evening.

Dan Munday and Danny Way both found the net for Dorchester, who remain at the top of the division with a four-point advantage over AFC Porchester Reserves.

But with Porchester and Sholing Reserves both hot on the heels of the Magpies with games in hand, two wins from their last two fixtures is crucial for Dave Kiteley’s men.

He told Echosport: “It was possibly the best and most competitive game I have been involved with this season, they were two young sides trying to play good football.

“We worked hard throughout and I’m just disappointed we couldn’t hold on, I’m not sure where the referee got all the added time from, but that’s just one of those things. As a neutral, it was probably a fair result.”

The Magpies’ Reserves boss added: “It would be nice for the lads to win the league because we have been at the top since day one.

“We are still top now and it’s better to have the points on the board rather than the games in hand.”

Magpies’ Reserves: Reynolds, Bathey, Carlile, Hanger, Lychie, Smith, Old (Gwenzi, 80), Way, Munday, Tennant (Vallier, 70), Twyford (Pidgeley, 70).
