IT has been a hugely successful sporting season for St Osmund’s Middle School in Dorchester, with five of their teams getting through to the county finals.

Both Year Seven and Eight girls’ netball teams won their area tournaments and will go on to represent South West Dorset in the county finals in Bournemouth.

At the start of the year, St Osmund’s also hosted the area basketball tournament. With the Year Eight team claiming victory in the competition and securing their place in the county finals.

In cross-country running, after numerous races including Bud-mouth, Colfox, Beaminster, Bourne-mouth Kings Park and Bryanstan, the school’s cross country teams have had a full and challenging season.

Particular congratulations must go to St Osmund’s to Maddy John-sson, who qualified to run for Dorset.

The year seven girls’ football team have also played their way through to the semi-final of the County Cup. Three pupils from St Osmund’s have also made it through to the finals of the National Schools’ Biathlon Championships. Maddy Johnson, Shem Martin and Harry O’Donoghue.
