STRIKER Mark Ford is chomping at the bit to get back into action for the Terras, after recovering from a triple-break in his foot.

The Weymouth forward, who suffered the lengthy injury when Weymouth hosted Corby Town back in January, claimed it has been a lengthy road to recovery after he was named on the bench for Saturday’s game against Hitchin Town.

He told Echosport: “I have been given the all clear to start playing again now and I can’t wait to get back. It's been terrible not playing, I hate watching and not being involved and I’m one of the worst people to watch a game there is, I just want to get out there.

“I have been in light training for a while and worked hard over the last two weeks, hopefully I’ll be able to come on this Saturday. It’s been about 12 weeks now and I’m just going to enjoy my football.”

The Terras find themselves in a rich vein of form at present, and have found the net 21 times in their last 10 league outings.

But Ford insists that when his first goal goes in on his return, all the hard work will have paid off.

He added: “The boys have done really well and Jase has brought in some quality young players. I’m just hoping I can impress coming off the bench and give him another selection headache.

“All this work I have been doing off the field to recover has been tough, so the first goal back will be brilliant and hopefully, if I come on, it will be this Saturday.”
