TERRAS’ player-manager Jason Matthews claimed that “something has to give” as his Weymouth side face a tough trip to in-form Hungerford Town tomorrow (3pm).

While Matthews’ men are unbeaten in their last five league outings, Berkshire-based Hungerford have picked up 22 points from a possible 24, in an eight-game spell without defeat.

“We’re under no illusions and we know it is going to be a tough game.” Matthews told Echosport.

He added: “They will be the favourites because they are the form side in the league and their pitch has a slope which they will be used to, but we have to go there, adapt to the facilities and push on.

“I have watched them myself rec-ently and I know that they are very well organised.”

The Terras will have to be on their guard against the free-scoring duo of Stefan Brown and Mark Draycott, who have racked up 43 league goals between them so far this term.

Brown, who notched a brace when the Terras were defeated by the Crusaders in November, has found the net in each of his last five league games.

Weymouth’s own prolific forward Stewart Yetton will face a late fitness test, following the ankle injury he picked up against Hitchin Town last weekend.

The Terras face two away trips against Hungerford and Truro City in the space of four days, and Matthews made it perfectly clear what a satisfactory outcome would be.

He added: “If we can stay unbeaten over the next two games I’d be delighted because then we can get back home and try to extend the run we’re on.”
