IT’S win or bust again for the Magpies tonight as Phil Simkin’s troops attempt to keep their survival hopes alive for a few more days.

A repeat of Saturday’s battling victory over Farnborough is exactly what Dor-chester boss Simkin, and the club’s fans, will be looking for when Hayes & Yeading arrive at the Avenue (7.45pm).

The visitors, fourth bottom in Skrill South, are in desperate need of three points themselves, and they are likely to face a team that won’t have Nick Crittenden starting.

The influential midfielder is struggling with a foot injury, but he is set to be included in a match-day squad which is going to be missing Warren Byerley after he returned to parent club Poole Town.

Defender Steve Walker is back after not featuring against Farnborough, but Jamie Gleeson (knee) is out for what is left of the season.

Hayes & Yeading won the reverse fixture 2-0 earlier this month and tonight is the second time this season that the Woking-based outfit have made the trip to Dorset – January’s fixture was only 35 minutes old when rain forced it to be abandoned.

Looking ahead to tonight’s clash, Magpies’ boss Simkin sees no reason why his men can’t follow up the weekend’s triumph with another.

“We can take heart from Saturday and really go for it tonight,” he said. “We’ll be looking for the same as the weekend and if we get that I will be delighted.

“We go into it without a few players but we still feel we’ve got enough to get a result and the boys will be confident after Saturday.

“We’ll just keep going and try to see how many points we can get and where that takes us.

“I never thought we’d get to 30 points and whatever happens from now it has been a really courageous effort from the players.”

He added: “It is very doubtful that Critts will start the game.

“He is struggling with his foot and if things don’t go our way it may be that we rest him for the remaining games.

“That will give him the summer to get fit and then he will be raring to go for next season.

“It’s also a shame that Warren has gone back to Poole because I thought he did really well on Saturday.

“Warren has played a lot of games for me and has always done well, and I’d like to thank him publicly for what he has done for us this season.”

Dorchester sit on 30 points at the foot of the table, Tonbridge, who go to Staines tonight, have 37, and both Maidenhead and Hayes are on 39.
