CHRIS Park claimed places are still available in his eventual starting XI, as Dorset make two changes to their squad to take on Wiltshire in a pre-season contest at South Wilts CC on Easter Monday (11am).

Wicket-keeper Park, who led the side to victory over Hampshire Seconds in his first game as permanent skipper, insisted Dorset will consider a number of different options before his side start their competitive schedule against Wales on May 5.

He told Echosport: “We are going to look at maybe 15 or 16 different players who were all part of our training sessions over the winter.

“We are going to need a big squad this year because of any potential injuries, work commitments and people going on holiday.”

Pace bowler Matt Carpenter comes into the group of 12 to replace James Hayman, and former vice- captain Aaron Williams replaces Luke Webb.

On his side’s preparations for the season, the Dorset skipper added: “We still need to improve on our work in the field, we dropped a couple of catches which should have been taken.

“It would also be good for one of our batsmen to score big early season runs.”
