THE South & West Dorset League was lit up in pink, as the organisation participated in England Netball’s Net10 for Life initiative.

The scheme, launched last month in aid of Cancer Research, saw leagues, clubs, schools, universities and the Back to Netball initiative all getting involved all over the country, to help raise vital funds through their love of netball.

Teams were encouraged to wear a flash of pink in their usual kit, from socks to headbands, and tutus to show their appreciation for the cause.

Teams were asked to dig deep and donate 10p per goal scored in their fixtures with most teams donating more, in total the league managed to raise £164.90.

Organiser and committee member Juliette Frampton was de-lighted, she added: “I am ex-tremely pleased with the effort made by all of the players in our league.

“I would like to thank them all for making their donations and getting involved.

It is obviously a cause close to the hearts of many of our members.”

League chairman Louise Bug-ler added: “Thank you to Juliette for organising the event this year. Once again the ladies have lots to be proud of and played to donate.

“The league is committed to supporting a serious cause and next year we will aim to shoot our way to an even greater donation to fight cancer.”

So far this year the Net10 for Life initiative has raised more than £7,000 for Cancer Research with England Netball target- ing to raise £10,000 this year.
