JASON Matthews has issued a rallying call to his players to keep things tight and end the season on high in what could be some of his squad’s final appearances for the Terras, as they travel to high-flying Chesham United tomorrow (3pm).

Weymouth leaked five goals in a fragile performance at home to Truro City on Monday, and Ches-ham marksman Chris Dillon stole the show when the Bucking-hamshire-based outfit visited the Bob Lucas Stadium in March.

His four-goal haul on the night was enough to give the Generals all three points, and with tomorrow’s hosts gearing up for their upcoming play-off campaign, Matthews is well aware of the threat they pose.

He told Echosport: ”They are a very good attacking side who out-score teams and have great quality going forward with three players that have scored over 20 goals this season.

They have goals coming from all areas and we need to go there and keep it tight, which is something we haven’t done all season.”

Although Saturday’s opponents have racked up over 100 goals in the league so far this term, a win for the Terras could see them finish in the Southern Premier League’s top 10.

Some of Weymouth’s current crop could possibly be playing their final games for the club as their respective loan deals expire, including Jacob Jagger-Cane, who may come back into the starting XI after recovering from a heel injury.

Matthews added: “I’d like to say thanks to all the loanees, every one of them that has been with us has played very well, contributed to a lot of games and I thank their clubs for letting them come and join us, hopefully next season it is something we may look at again.”

“It would be nice to finish the season on a good note, Chesham will be going into the play-offs after playing us but we are already looking to build next season and get some plans in place.”

Meanwhile, in the Championship, Yeovil Town travel to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton & Hove Albion tonight (7.45pm). While Bournemouth look to keep their play-off hopes alive at home to Nottingham Forest tomorrow (3pm).
