DORCHESTER Cricket Club have unveiled a plaque in memory of Nathan Cross.

Cross, who was a junior member of the club and was a regular user of the club’s nets, tragically passed away in January 2011 and had a foundation set up in his memory, which supports local charities and, in particular, local youth sport.

Nathan’s father Kevin said: “The proposal by Dorchester Cricket Club to dedicate a memorial plaque at the practice nets significantly touches my heart.

“Nathan spent countless hours there and cricket was his most loved sport. To have a plaque erected at the nets is, for me, the most fitting tribute to him.

“I know that Nathan would be proud of the amazing legacy that he has left behind in Dorchester and the value that the plaque represents to the club’s youth and older players alike is immeasurable.

“I would also like to extend my appreciation to Ian McHarrie for his help and generosity in fitting the plaque”

Dorchester cricket’s Pete Moxom said: “The work that Nathan’s dad Kevin has done in setting up the Nathan Cross Memorial Fund is fantastic and we fully support him and the cause.

“The level of money that the fund has raised is phenomenal and we are pleased to be able to do our bit.”
