AWARD winning Terras’ skipper Stewart Yetton claims that next season is the time for Weymouth to kick on after he secured three awards at the club’s annual presentation evening, organised by the Weymouth Supporters Association.

The skipper scooped the manager’s player award, the supporters’ home player award and the club’s golden boot for netting more than 25 times in the league last term.

“The Weymouth supporters are absolutely brilliant, and I’d like to thank them for all of my awards,” Yetton told Echosport.

“It’s nice to be rewarded personally, but obviously the hard work starts as a team next season to get into those play-offs and fight for promotion.

“I’m delighted to win some trophies but it’s all about next season, we want to be aiming to go up.”

The striker also took the time to show gratitude to the entire Terras’ playing squad and the club as a whole.

He added: “At the end of the day, I have scored a lot of goals purely because my teammates have set me up a lot so I’d like to thank them and thank Jase for having the faith in me and making me captain.

“I had a bad injury at the end of the previous season and at the time Brendon (King) brought me in and I’d like to think I have repaid the club for showing their faith in me.”
